Boston – Dominican culture and hospitality was on full display as the Boston Red Sox hosted Dominican Republic Day at Fenway Park.
The celebration was sponsored by the Dominican Republic Tourism Board which featured live Dominican music, a pre-game ceremony honoring David “Big Papi” Ortíz and the Ceremonial First Pitch was tossed out by the Dominican Republic’s Consul General of Boston Carmen Milagros Almonte.

Latinobaseball.com, the premier website on the history of Latino ballplayers in the Major League paid tribute to David “Big Papi” Ortiz with the “2016 Player of the Year Award” during the pre-game festivities prior to the Red Sox vs. Detroit Tigers game.

“Big Papi” Ortíz has made all Dominicans proud with his amazing success and with his gentlemanly manner.
