About 60 Eastern Bank employees, friends and family members participated in the Lowell General Hospital “TeamWalk for CancerCare,” held on Sunday, May 18. Eastern Bank employees raised more than $9,000 for the cause and the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation donated $3,000, bringing our total contribution to more than $12,000. In 2014, the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation will donate about $5.5 million to numerous nonprofit organizations across eastern Massachusetts. Eastern Bank employees donate about 40,000 hours per year to organizations working as volunteers.
