Working at an investment company not only helped Danissa Lembert change her major in college, but also find a new career path.

Lembert, branch relationship manager at Enterprise Bank was studying child psychology at Middlesex Community College while working at Putnam Investments.

That’s where I fell in love with finances,” Lembert said. Some people can see this job as a meaningless sales job, but the way I see it is how I can help people reach their financial potential.

I’m a very emotional person and if I had been a psychologist, I’d probably gone home crying every day,” she said.

Lembert, 31, comes to Enterprise Bank with more than 11 years of experience in the banking business. She was hired specifically when the Lawrence branch opened exactly two years ago this month.

Her job at Enterprise Bank is to build relationships in the community thus help in the bank’s growth with business and private clients.

Her career at the bank has allowed her to get more involved in the community; Lembert is a board member of Family Services of Greater Lawrence, Groundwork Lawrence, Kiwanis Club of Greater Lawrence. She was also part of the logistics committee for volunteers helping build a home in the Arlington neighborhood through Habitat for Humanity. She was also an honoree at this year’s Merrimack Valley YWCA Tribute to Women event among 23 other local women.

Our bank has the reputation of getting involved in the community. It was an easy fit for me. I speak for the bank as a continuing effort to serve the community,” Lembert said.

Lembert oversees six employees, both tellers and customer service specialists.

The branch at 290 Merrimack St. is located on 3,500 square foot featuring four teller stations, two of which are for businesses. The business owner can sit down for a more personal transaction. The bank also has a Smart ATM which allows customers to withdraw any amount of money with their bank card, not just the usual $20 increments.  As with other branches, Enterprise Bank’s walls are bedecked with paintings by Tom Gill featuring Lawrence-related themes such as a band drum, saxophones and trumpets leading the Feast of Three Saints and a painting of the monument honoring the strikers of the 1912 Strike.

Lembert was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to Lawrence with her parents and two sisters in 1992 when she was 8 years old. She attended Lawrence public schools and Lawrence High where she was a member of the cross country track team and softball team. After graduating from Lawrence High in 2002, she enrolled at Middlesex Community College.

Lembert and her high school sweetheart Michael Veras have four children son, Juelz, 9; daughter, Deliana, 12; twin daughters Jewelly y Darlisa, 6. “Raising a large family is not easy but I’m thankful for the support I receive from my parents and my mother-in-law”.

When not working or serving on boards, she enjoys spending time with her family, doing yoga and running benefit races. Her last race was the Claddagh Pub 4-mile road race March 1.

Running makes me feel free, it relaxes me, calms me and brings me peace,” Lembert said.
