Danai Mavridis and Jackee Monterrosa have been best friends “forever”, as they like to say.
Always together during their formative years and being classmates at the John J. O’Bryant School of Math and Science in Boston, the Greek Mavridis and Salvadorean Monterrosa have formed an undeniable bond.
One of their many common interests was make-up. They each loved to not just put it on each other, but also on other girls.

“We would do our make-up in school then our friends would ask us to do theirs, we would never even have time at lunch we were so busy with the make-up”, explains Monterrosa, who lives in East Boston.
Mavridis, who now lives in Randolph, explains that this mutual love for make-up carried on after their school days and has now blossomed into much more than a hobby.

“After we put some of our work on facebook and social media, the requests came flying in. It made us realize that we could really become known for this”, says Mavridis.
Today, they keep very busy applying a professional make-up look to many of the local beauty pageants in Massachusetts and have expanded to bring their talent to other social events around the area.
“We’ve done weddings, quinceñeras, fashion shows and photo-shoots for all kinds of models”, adds Monterrosa.
This past Halloween, they decided to show off their creative side as they began posting a series of very unusual and original make-up work that highlighted the Halloween spirit.

We got so much response from those photos that we have now decided to start up a business. We’re looking into opening up a small shop and going from there”, says Mavridis.
El Mundo Boston congratulates these female entrepreneurs and wishes them the best in their new business.
